Mesothelioma Types
01/01/2009
Mesothelioma occurs because of asbestos exposure for a long period of time. The medical researchers have identified the four types of this disease; pleural mesothelioma, peritoneal mesothelioma, pericardial mesothelioma and testicular mesothelioma. Each above mentioned mesothelioma types has different ancestries. Typically, mesothelioma develops in mesothelial cells that form the membranous linings around the organs.
Mesothelial tissues are consisting of two layers. One is called parietal and second is known as visceral layer. Parietal layer is external layer and spread over a large area for example, chest cavity in a case of pleural and pericardial mesothelioma. Visceral layers are found over the organs such as heart, lungs etc. mesothelioma build on these tissues when asbestos particles gather in the gap between mesothelial cells.
Mesothelioma is a specific vigorous type of asbestos cancer with highly resistance power and often results in certain mortality signs. Generally, pleural mesothelioma is considered as more responsive to the medical treatment if diagnosed at early stage. However, mesothelioma in its all types is hard to diagnose and usually appears when rooted deeply in its origin.
Like cancer, mesothelioma is difficult to cure at developed stage and have rear chances to be recovered. However, there are few treatments that have shown significant results in the treatment of mesothelioma such as mesothelioma surgeries, mesothelioma radiation, and mesothelioma chemotherapy. When mesothelioma is diagnosed, it is better to contact an oncologist as early as possible. There is no definite treatment of mesothelioma is invented yet but and oncologist can help you to control over your disease.
